Features at the monthly meeting
Meetings will feature either a speaker presentation or a workshop.
The speaker presentations will be given by local and international orchid experts.
Workshops are offered by Society members who are eager to share their expertise as well as invited experts.
A highlight of our normal meetings is the Show Table where members bring in their blooming orchids for display and judging. Members must bring plants to the show table by 1:40 pm. Plants should be clean, well-staked and both pest and disease free.
The plants are judged in each orchid alliance and ribbons are awarded as well as a “Best of Show Table” rosette. There is no virtual show table.
However, virtual attendees are welcome to share pictures of their orchids for a Show and Tell slideshow or on our social media pages.
From time to time we invite vendors to our meetings and organize group orders of plants and/or orchid growing supplies to give members an opportunity to build their collection.
For our in-person attendees, refreshments are provided, and a monthly raffle table offers items for enthusiasts to build their collections, including plants, supplies, specialist orchid magazines or books.
When do the meetings take place?
We hold meetings on the third Sunday of every month from September to May except for April from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The date is adjusted for the May meeting if it falls on a holiday weekend.
Meetings are offered both in-person and via Zoom. We encourage those who feel unwell to join us via Zoom.
How to participate?
Membership fees are currently $30 a year.
Guests are welcome to attend for the small fee of $5 to offset speaker and rental costs.
How to get there?
The meeting will be held in Hall F.
Enter Door 2 at the rear parking and go through the next door to your right. Take the stairs to Hall F, overlooking Arena 2. The elevator is to your left upon entering Door 2.
Members will receive registration information a week before the meeting.
