This month join us to celebrate the season.  Hear an update on the Deep River Rescue Project, accept our Year End Statements and join us for the Annual OOS Trivia Contest.

When: Sunday December 21: 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm

Where: Nepean Sportsplex, 1701 Woodroffe Ave. in Hall F (Enter through door 2 from the rear parking lot)

Please join us to celebrate the season. This is a hybrid meeting: members look for the Zoom invitation to register. Our guests online will be able to enjoy the presentations and OOS business, participate in the OOS Trivia Challenge and see the Show Table. The Show and Tell will be shown during the break.

There will be two short presentations:

  • Nick Cox will update us on the Deep River Rescue: how the plants transplanted last year have done and possible future work.
  • Acceptance of our 2025 year-end financial statements. Our year-end was June 30. Our Treasurer will be available to answer any questions.  It is important that everyone votes. Please make sure you have looked at the documents before the meeting. They are both in the December Spike and will have been sent to members by email.

The Annual OOS Trivia Challenge is back: you will work in convivial groups with refreshments to answer some questions and perhaps win prizes!

Potluck: Baked goods and sweets, Cheese and crackers, Fruit and vegetable trays only please.

We would love you to share the fruits of your favourite holiday recipes for festive refreshments.  Please indicate if they are gluten free, nut free or sugar free. Please bring baked goods or sweets, cheese trays with crackers, fruit and vegetable trays only – nothing that could spoil if left out for a couple of hours.

As last year, there will be no Gift Exchange.  However, all members will receive a free raffle ticket. If you wish to share, please feel free to bring an item for the raffle table.  You can wrap it festively, but please make sure that the contents are visible – or clearly identified on a tag. You may also want to bring some cash to donate some funds for a Conservation Organization to be announced by the Conservation Committee.

We will have the usual show table, you will pick up pre-orders from Manu’s orchids and…if you haven’t finished your gift list, why not look at the COC Calendar 2026?  Orchid lovers will be sure to enjoy it.
