This month join us to hear Andrew Geimar of Roehampton Orchids tell us how to grow Phragmedium species and hybrids.

When: Sunday October 19: 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm

Where: Nepean Sportsplex, 1701 Woodroffe Ave. in Hall F (Enter through door 2 from the rear parking lot)

At our October meeting, learn about growing Phragmipedium species and hybrids in home conditions with Andrew Geimar from Roehampton Orchids. Andrew will be with us in person. The talk will focus on different use of potting media, pots, and watering techniques to help you achieve success growing this tricky genera in home conditions (even in low humidity!).  Andrew will showcase different growers from across Canada including some greenhouse and home growers of Phragmipedium. The talk will be fun and interactive, with lots of beautiful photos and videos! It will be followed by an engaging virtual quiz.

Andrew Geimar is co-owner of Roehampton Orchids.  He has been growing Phragmipedium for over 8 years. He is an award-winning grower with most of his American Orchid Society awards for both Phrags and Paphs (amongst a few others). Andrew tells us that he is a habitual over-waterer and only the wet- loving orchids thrive in his care.

The meeting will be a hybrid meeting. Our in-person meeting is in Hall F at Nepean Sportsplex.  We will have the usual Show Table, raffle and refreshments with a break to chat with our "Ask Me Anything" experts.  Members, please bring your plants to the show table by 1:40 pm to allow time for judging. If you are feeling unwell, please join us via Zoom.
