This month, Nicholas Rust of RustyExotics Orchids will discuss growing under artificial lighting, all you need to create a grow room of your own.
When: Sunday February 16, 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm
Where: Nepean Sportsplex, 1701 Woodroffe Ave. in Halls C/D (Enter through door 4 from the rear parking lot)
Join us to hear Nicholas Rust of RustyExotics Orchids in Athens, Georgia discuss growing orchids under artificial lighting - everything you need to know to create a grow room of your own via Zoom. This should be an illuminating talk for those interested in organizing an orchid growing area.
Nicholas specializes in terrestrial orchids such as the beautiful jewel orchids, Bulbophyllum, habenaria and terrestrial Australian orchids such as Thelymitra. Recently he has branched out to include other terrestrials in his collection including Pitcher plants and unusual aroids. Through studying biochemistry and molecular biology throughout college, Nicholas approached his orchids with the same scientific perspective he used while working in a research lab. This led to an interest in the entire growth cycle of orchids and the start of his own hybridization program. Nicholas was a major contributor to the COC Jewel orchids publication and seminar a few years ago.
The meeting will be a hybrid meeting. Please note that the in-person meeting will be held I Halls C/D, not the usual Hall F. Use Door 4 at the rear of Nepean Sportsplex. We will be back to Hall F next month.
We will have the usual Show Table, raffle and refreshments with a break to chat with your Growing Together” leaders and visit our "Ask Me Anything" experts. Members, please bring your plants to the show table by 1:40 pm to allow time for judging. If you are feeling unwell, please join us via Zoom.
I just joined this morning if I could received the link for this afternoon zoom activity I would appreciate it.
