Jean Hollebone and Marilyn Light have produced several documents to inform members what is required to bring orchids into Canada from the US, originally written for the World Orchid Congress held in Florida in January 2008. These documents are no longer easily available on line but a summary is available here: WOC Import/Export Checklist  (1 page)

A lot of detailed information about import requirements and CITES documentation is available on the Canadian Orchid Congress website at http://canadianorchidcongress.ca/importing/ . You are advised to check this carefully before you attempt to import any orchids, and particularly those species listed in CITES Appendix I (primarily paphs and phrags). If you do not have the correct import permits and documentation the plants may be confiscated and you risk a fine.
